Resources

Mental Health and Wellbeing

We have collected a wide range of resources to supplement the Australian Catholic Bishop Council’s mental health and wellbeing program Do Not Be Afraid, with the aim of producing a detailed, easily accessible online initiatvie that parishes can use to establish and facilitate their own mental health and wellbeing ministry.

It includes guidelines and advice for establishing an effective ministry as well as a host of supporting information that can be used as content for workshops and seminars, with specific sections designed to support both participants and facillitators. The information contained in this section is sourced from experts working in this ministry from dioceses around the world, Australian government reports, NGOs, scientific journals and theologians.

Each section includes links to video content that will help contextualise the information, engage your audience and encourage discussion of the topics.

We have sought permission to use each of the resources and included links to the original material wherever possible for further reading. We hope that this will also be a valuable resource for students and others seeking to learn more about mental health and wellbeing.

Deaf Liturgy

The Emmanuel Centre is in the process of working with the Archdiocese of Perth’s Centre for Liturgy to develop a series of liturgical resources for our Deaf community. This section currently includes a range of Deaf resources produced by other dioceses and christian organisations that will help Deaf people, priests and parishes engage with the gospel and the sacraments.

Church Inclusion

All Catholic churches, religious communities, and venues must develop a Disability Access Inclusion Plan (DAIP). This plan helps to welcome and include everybody such as people with disabilities/people with other abilities, the elderly, young families, and more.
